Over the last 18 months over 350 items of furniture, white goods and electrical items have been gifted to residents across north Manchester.
Our tenancy support team introduced the scheme last year to support people moving from temporary accommodation, often with very little or nothing to furnish their new property and make it a home.
The project is supported by Master Moves, who organise all the collections, storage and deliveries as part of their social value commitment. All electrical items are PAT tested by our partners at Equans to ensure any items we gift to residents are safe and do not leave the warehouse until tested.
We are always looking for more donations – can you help?
If you are replacing furniture in your home that is in reasonable condition we can collect it free of charge and donate it to someone in need. Sofas and mattresses will need to have the fire label attached.
Just fill in the form below and we'll be in touch.
Richard (pictured) had to move due to a flood which destroyed most of his furniture. Demi, who’s been supporting him, arranged for a sofa, coffee table, fridge-freezer and bed to be delivered. He told us, “The furniture has enabled me to settle in quickly, and I have really appreciated the support from Demi and the scheme.”
