Rainbow Surprise is a charity based in Crumpsall offering a Community Pantry and Foodbank, as well as delivering over 100 food parcels a day. They help a variety of different people; from low income families to those experiencing homelessness.
They wanted to extend their offer to provide a community kitchen where hot meals can be made for residents. So they reached out to our repairs contractor, EQUANS, to see if they could help with converting a large store room into a fully decked-out kitchen.
With a kitchen provided by Travis Perkins, volunteers from EQUANS dedicated 106 hours to fitting the units and even helped identify some unsafe and outdated electrical work - ensuring this was replaced and fixed and up to standard.
The new kitchen will go a long way in ensuring that Rainbow Surprise can continue to offer vital help to families and individuals who are struggling with the cost of living crisis.
